Because

This movie is probably racist, sexist, and homophobic. And I'm gonna talk about it, even though it's not remotely current.

The Formats, they are a Changin'

We here at Femmebot Versus Shark have not noticed how the popularity of things that are short and pithy. Although I am still not cool enough to tweet, I do take notes on the movies I watch that wind up as short poems. And so even though we have never taken steps to monetize this blog, because we are probably too foul, we will now discuss individual movies, briefly, as their own entries. It's a leaner, more boiled-down method, Femmebot Versus Shark Lite, if you will. We aim to deliver hard little kernels of truth that don't pop until THEY'RE IN YOUR BRAIN, although [spoiler alert] we do reserve the right to get talky about the portrayal of sexual assault in several intriguing and problematic films in the near future.

Please enjoy, at your leisure, the next sequence of vampire and soldier movies.

This is not a forum for the debating of the existence of sexism, homophobia, racism, classism, transphobia, ableism, or any of the other major forms of intersecting oppressions. OMG, THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER PLACES YOU CAN DO THAT!

Also, disagree with me and each other all you like! I love that! If you noticed I said something fucked up about oppression, or if your expertise in your own oppression gives you a better view, and if you are feeling generous enough to share that with me!? I embrace that!

Just be respectful. No name calling, No verbally attacking people. Please, my three readers and twenty-five spambots have feelings too, you know.
